Introducing… Morning Wood

by Admin

There’s no better way to start your day with morning wood… don’t you agree?

No, not that kind of morning wood… sicko. If you haven’t already figured it out, this post is a debut of a new Highway 35 feature, named, you guessed it… Morning Wood. And any of you who finds that to be suggestive has a twisted mind.

Instead, this is a new kind of blog post. Well, new for me at least. Why spend time going around the internet, looking at different websites, when you could find all relevant information right here? When we wake up in the morning, sometimes we only have a few minutes to check the web every morning, which is not nearly enough time to sift through all the crap out there.

That being said, that’s what this new daily feature will be for you guys. Bookmark it, and instead of wasting time every morning going around to different sites, you could just come here. It’s kind of like a mini-newspaper; meaning we’ll have links on news, sports, opinion, entertainment, and way more. We’ll start off with a picture of an attractive woman, and then delve straight into the news.

One last thing. Women out there don’t be thrown off by the title or the way I’ve decided to start each of these posts, because despite what it may seem like, this will not be something strictly for men. It will be for anyone who needs an awesome way to start their day, and what’s a better way to do that than Morning Wood?

Without further ado, here it is…

Today’s Girl: Hayden Panettiere

BAM! So why start off the day (and inaugural MW), with Hayden Panettiere? Simple. In the third episode of their fourth season last night, she looked absolutely amazing, especially in the scene where shes just… hanging out. If you gave up on Heroes because of last season, you need to start watching again, now.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to Publish Book Earlier Than Expected

Ha! The woman with seemingly no interview skills has resurfaced, putting out a book this November 17th, months before it was expected to be released. Somehow this woman has amanged to write 400 pages in a mere for months, so all the power to her. Interestingly enough, the book, entitled “Going Rogue”, will have its e-book release pushed to December 26th, in an effort to push hardcover sales over the Christmas holiday. Good luck with that. And with that being said, here’s our first video, a compilation of some of Palin’s funniest moments, and a “highlight reel” of sorts.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Gmail Account Has Been Hacked

I don’t know how such a high-security e-mail account can be hacked, but it happened. See for yourself by clicking here.

Ugly Kardashian Sister Weds Lakers Player

The highly-publicized wedding has happened, and I don’t know why anyone cares. I did a bit of research to find out they (Khloe and Lakers player Lamar Odom) have known each other for less time than it takes the leaves to change colours. So why write about this seemingly irrelevant event? As an excuse to show this picture. Why would CNN choose such an ugly picture to put? God, she looks like a dirtier Kirstie Alley.

What’s on TV tonight:

New episodes of Biggest Loser (NBC 8:00 PM), 90210 (CW 8:00 PM), and Melrose Place (CW 9:00 PM).

In Baseball: the Tigers take on the Twins (12:05 PM) in a crucial game, with each team fighting for the division, with the Tigers holding a slim two-game lead. Also, the Braves take on the Marlins and the Rockies take on the Brewers as both teams are fighting for the wild card lead. Isn’t baseball fun?

Lastly, we have the talk shows. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Billy Crystal stop by Jay Leno (10:00 PM NBC), John Krasinski and Patton Oswalt are on Conan (11:35 PM NBC), and Kelsey Grammar and Alyson Hannigan visit David Letterman (11:30 PM CBS). Looks to be a good night for talk shows. In related news, no one cares about Jimmy Fallon or Craig Ferguson.

And that concludes the first Morning Wood. Keep coming back for more, because I promise they’ll improve.
